ISPO is the trade show to end all trade shows, it’s the place to get the skinny on all of next seasons innovation, before this season has even hit its full swing! We stopped by the Patagonia booth, to chat to Hannah Bailey and to get the low down on Patagonia for 2020/21.
“The roll top design allows for quick and easy access to the body of the bag”
A solid fan and team favourite in their accessories line is the Descensionist Pack. Coming in at either 32L or 40L it’s the ideal size for touring missions and casual travel. The roll top design allows for quick and easy access to the body of the bag, but ensures you won’t be left with a bunch of unwanted snow nestled in amongst your things.
A big story coming out of Ventura, California last year was the ‘Shell Yeah’ campaign, celebrating the fact that all Patagonia shells for season 2019/20 were manufactured using recycled materials and are Fairtrade sewn.
“Designed with backcountry bonanzas and out of bounds exploration in mind”
Shell items that didn’t fit the criteria were cut from the line, and new products stepped up to take their place. The Snowdrifter Jacket was a roaring success and comes back for season 2020/21 as one of their most sought after pieces. Designed with backcountry bonanzas and out of bounds exploration in mind, it’s the ultimate companion for those who spend their life off the beaten path.
For those who like to stand out on the hill, the Powslayer is a nice little eye-catching fluro number made out of 100% recycled nylon (The video mistakenly refers to the Powslayer jacket as being made of Polyester, but Hannah has corrected us that it is in fact recycled nylon). You’ll be looking good, whilst doing good!
“This allows the jacket to keep its premium technical specs but produces a jacket with a far smaller carbon footprint”
The Nanopuff retains its classic aesthetic but has undergone some serious changes under the hood this year. Now it’s made using Primaloft P.U.R.E (Produced Using Reduced Emissions) synthetic down as an insulator. This allows the jacket to keep its premium technical specs but produces a jacket with a far smaller carbon footprint.
Keep your eyes peeled for more product highlights as we roll them out and drop us a line if you’ve got any questions about specific products.
