The Oriental-style temple, complete with gap-on kicker and gas pipe across the roof, was a popular centrepiece. Big, creative and colourful, it was just the kind of thing to brighten up a sterile snowdome.  Thom had also found time to sculpt an icy ledge with massive potential for side-on slides.

As DJs ch!co and Funk From The Trunk provided the beats, the riders lapped the park and looked for ways to get the most out of the two unique features.Reece Gould threw out a variety of spins off the temple’s roof, while Billy Neilsen went for size and style with some huge tweaks over the top. Gazza Andrews got arguably the most creative line, with a backside 360 tail tap transfer from the kicker, across the roof of the temple.

Sparrow Knox and Tom Guilmard were among those with style on the ledge but it was Ollie Waters who ran away with the honours, with 450-ons, frontside boardslide pretzels and other ultra-tech tricks. Katie Omerod showed her prodigous talent during the Whitelines Jib Jam, nailing some backside lipslides and front board danishes among other things to walk away with the title of best female.

As always, this FBBB session wasn’t just about the contest: scores of folk were out on the hill just enjoying the slide and the atmosphere. K2, Salomon, Never Summer and Ride were offering demos of next season’s kit, while a live topsheet design display was laid on inside.
