When it comes to finding the right Endeavor for you, Canada’s premier board-builders have made things nice and easy. Their range of fifteen sticks is split into three categories of tech. Once you’ve decided which meets your needs and budget, then you can go about finding the right shape.

“Freestyle fans who see potential in the whole mountain will enjoy this one”

The Endeavor Board Of Directors sits in the middle, with more bells and whistles than the entry-level fare but not as much as the high-end models. Shape-wise it’s a true twin with traditional camber – albeit with a twist – so freestyle fans who see potential in the whole mountain will enjoy this one.

Each end of the Endeavor B.O.D. is slightly convex, like the back of a spoon (a characteristic that’s becoming more and more common in snowboarding). The contact points are slightly raised, making it less likely that you’ll catch your edge and more likely that you’ll get a good press going when buttering. It’s pretty subtle though, so if you want to get that edge biting in for a carve then it’ll still oblige.

A single carbon rod runs from the nose to the tail, increasing the B.O.D.’s ollie power without overly stiffening it from side to side. That means it’ll spring like a gazelle when you want it to, but can still be torsionally twisted with ease.

Urethane-enhanced sidewalls help to smooth out the ride, so if you’re blasting through crud your feet won’t pay too high a price. Endeavor have improved the manufacturing process for 2017/18, so you get an even more effective reduction of chatter with even less waste.

Like all Endeavors, the Board Of Directors has a sintered base that won’t let you down when you’re flooring it. It also features the ‘Channel’ mounting system – conventional bindings still work fine, but you can also opt for one of Burton’s EST models such as the Burton Mission.

Simple, easy-to-understand tech, done right – it’s no wonder the Endeavor Board Of Directors is such a hit. Riders of all abilities looking for an all-rounder are highly encouraged to check it out.

Tester’s Verdict

Ed Blomfield – whitelines.com

“This was one of those boards that just felt… right. It turned when I wanted it to turn, it didn’t squirrel or threaten to catch an edge when I pointed it, and when I asked it to ollie it said ‘how high?’

“As an all-mountain freestyle deck, it ticks almost every box”

It’s become fashionable to mess around with weird shapes these days, but the B.O.D is a lesson in refined design. The subtly raised contact points take the twitchiness out of the ride without turning it into a rockered tea tray, while the combination of carbon and poplar does exactly what it’s supposed to: increase response, reduce weight.

Side hits, drops, kickers and piste were all par for the course on this thing. Granted, rail riders might find it a little on the stiff side, but as an all-mountain freestyle deck it ticks almost every box.

An infinitely adjustable stance via the channel system is just the icing on the cake.”

Trade Secrets

Rusty Ockenden – Team Rider, Endeavor

I ride the BOD everywhere. Literally, I have set it up on opening day and rode it until the resort closes in May.
It’s nice having a board so reliable and versatile that you don’t even have to think about your setup on a day-to-day basis.

Endeavor deploy their own channel system, making them compatible with Burton's popular EST range of bindings.
