Who Is The Drake Team Kohei For?

Strong riders who want a snowboard for precision riding, you’re not so bothered about jibbing around in the park, but your freestyle comes out to play on bigger features.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

A full camber isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying the benefits of rocking the traditional bend. It delivers the most pop of any profile, the board is always spring loaded and ready to snap back into shape, delivering a dynamic edge to your riding whether it’s boosting off a lip or pumping edge to edge.

It also comes into play when you’re bombing it, it gives more stability at speed thanks to the four contact points and allows for solid edge hold through the whole arc of your turn. Of course, there’s slight downsides to it, camber can be slightly catchier, but Drake shorten the camber slightly making it a bit more manageable at lower speeds.

You can still ride a directional twin switch, hell you can ride anything switch if you’re good enough, but this outline gives slightly more volume in the nose for added float in the pow and more control when pointing it straight on the hardpack.

“With its high-end sintered base and reactive fibreglass weave you’ll get high precision riding even when you’re hitting high speed”

Construction and Materials

Upgraded for 2021/22, the Team Kohei now has Drake’s UR’INSANE Absorbers which are TPU filled channels running through the core outside the inserts to the nose and tail. These dampen vibrations and soak up chatter coming from the contact points for a smoother rider.

For this season, they’ve also tricked out the Team Kohei with carbon and Kevlar rods running tip to tail to boost pop power through the length of the board without messing with the torsional flex. With its high-end sintered base and reactive fibreglass weave you’ll get high precision riding even when you’re hitting high speed.

“…with its versatile features and adaptable profile it’s a snowboard that can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. And it’ll do it in style”
