The Dew Tour 2015 slopestyle is upon us, and some of the event’s heaviest hitters appear in this video – for the uninitiated, here’s how to tell your Andersons from your Toutants:
Mikey Cicarelli – While often overshadowed by fellow Canadians Mark McMorris and Max Parrot, Mikey has had a decent competitive career of his own. In 2012 he was Youth Winter Olympic champ, and cracked the World Snowboard Tour’s overall top 10 in the 2013/14 season.
Sven Thorgren – A threat in both slopestyle and Big Air events, this Swede is known for bringing style to his runs like few others can. Expect shiftys and unconventional grabs, stopmped to perfection.
Enni Rukajarvi – The Olympic silver medallist also finished 2nd at the 2014 Dew Tour. Getting past Jamie Anderson is no mean feat, but this Finnish rider has as good a chance as anyone.
Janne Korpi – This Finnish rider has had the longest career out of anyone in the men’s event. He rode the pipe in both the 2006 and 2010 Olympics, and has been bothering podiums on both the FIS and WST circuits for the last decade.
Emil Ulsletten – One of many, many Norwegian slopestyle masters, Emil’s wins include victory at the 2014 Burton High Fives. He’s not been quite as successful as countrymen Stale Sandbech and Torstein Horgmo, but his best days are clearly ahead of him.
Jamie Anderson – The unstoppable force of women’s slopestyle, it’s only on rare occasions – such as the 2014 Burton European Open – that Jamie doesn’t take the win. Having stepped it up at Nine Queens with a floaty 1080, she’s clearly still got more to offer, and will be looking to retain her Dew Tour title.
