One of the dopest looking boots we’re seeing this year, new to Deeluxe’s freestyle line and jumping in as a soft flexing jib option, this is the DNA. Taking it back to basics but adding in a few modern twists to keep them relevant, Deeluxe have hit it out of the park with these badboys.

They’re available across unisex sizing and two different colourways, including a Bloodline Red, so if block colour’s more your thing, Deeluxe have got you covered.

Who Is The Deeluxe DNA For?

With its super mellow flex and classic laces, the DNA is reminiscent of old school skate shoes, and is undoubtedly geared towards jib kids and park rats. Or if you’re a newer rider looking for something mellow and forgiving to start dialing in new skills, you’ll appreciate the easy going feel and cheap price point.

Shell & Outsole

We’re suckers for a traditional lace boot, there’s nothing quite like it for realiability and adjustability, plus we just love the look. Deeluxe have gone a step further and spiced it up a little with the inclusion of the side boa, it runs a different lace that purely locks in over the ankle, so you can rock your laces super loose and still get that heel locked in.

You’ll be able to get really jibby and playful but still retain some of that response. You’ve also got the power strap round the top to keep the tongue flush to the boot or loosen it off a little for a bit more play.

Continuing with the skate theme, Deeluxe have used their Skate Flex sole, super grippy and malleable to enhance underfoot board feel and offer some extra traction when you’re hiking the kicker line over and over. They use cushioning gel in the heel to help with the bigger landings, always helpful when you’re seshing the park all day.

Liner

Internally Deeluxe use their Stage 2 liner, it’s not their top of the range option, but to be honest, at this price, who can complain? Plus, it’s not like it’s exactly basic either, it’s still fully heat mouldable so you can custom fit them to your feet.

In keeping with the loosey goosey theme, Deeluxe use their new Jib tongue, the thinnest and softest of the bunch. It offers a slick boot to binding interface, trimming the fat for precise feel with no bulky appearance. If you did want to take it for a spin and wanted a bit more support, it does have the capacity for an optional flex booster to stiffen it up a little.

Roundup

For the money, there aren’t many boots that can compete with this, the only thing entry level about this boot is the price. A sure fire favourite for riding park, street or dome, the Deeluxe DNA is a future classic.
