Why we chose the Dakine Jamie Anderson Team W Heli Pro 24L Snowboard Backpack: Retweaked for this season, made to match the needs of Jamie Anderson, and easy on the eye.

Celebrating 25 laps around the sun, the Dakine Heli series backpack is back with a facelift. Together with Jamie Anderson, Dakine is introducing the new and improved Dakine x Jamie Anderson Team Heli Pro 24L women’s backpack to the market.

Teaming up with Jamie Anderson for yet another season, Dakine knows that any product carrying Jamie’s name needs to be the absolute best. With that in mind, the Dakine Heli Pro backpack has been retweaked with a whole bunch of new backcountry features – including recalibrated fit, increased durability, and recycled materials.

Drawing on last year’s design, the backpack does a good job capturing Jamie’s personality. Inspired by what Dakine refers to as ‘the delicate balance of the universe’, the pack is embellished with a mandala pattern that symbolises a ‘dreamer’s search for completeness and self-unity’ (err… ok?). The black and white contrast is easy on the eye, whilst the details give the backpack a unique look.

As for the features themselves, the pack comes with a women’s specific fit making it more comfortable for us ladies to carry. The quick-drying mesh padded back panel also adds to the comfort of the bag (it stops your back from getting soaked in sweat as well).

Instead of struggling with fitting the helmet inside the backpack, the deployable helmet carry makes it more convenient to carry your lid around when it’s not on your head.

In terms of additional features, there’s also a pocket with sleeves to stash your snow tools or shovel in, a large fleece-lined goggle pocket, insulated hydration sleeve and a 38mm padded hip belt. You can also stack your snowboard through the vertical or horizontal snowboard carry ‘pocket’. In case things really take a turn for the worse, a rescue whistle has been added to the sternum strap.

All in all, the updated Dakine x Jamie Anderson Team W Heli Pro 24L backpack has got style and function in abundance. It’s everything we love, and have loved, about the Dakine Heli series.
