Why we chose the CAPiTA Paradise Snowboard: You’d be hard pressed to find another board this good, for this price.

The CAPiTA Paradise is a jill of all trades, a great partner in crime for the rider who doesn’t want to label themselves. Your one stop shop for all-mountain idealism. Cheap as chips and just as tasty, who needs a whole quiver when you’ve got an arrow that’ll smash through anything?

The concept of Paradise varies wildly from person to person, for some it’s getting a soothing bedtime story and a kiss on the forehead from Tom Hardy, for others it’s a room filled with strippers and blow, but for argument’s sake, we’re gonna say Paradise is getting freshies on a bluebird pow day with your homies. And while this snowboard can’t control the weather, it is your VIP Access-All-Areas pass to explore every part of the mountain.

“The versatile nature of the Paradise means you can go sniffing out pow stashes in the morning, and cruise over to the park to booter shoot when it gets tracked out”

While terrain specific boards are awesome, they can pigeon-hole you at times. Your super directional swallow tail is gonna be ace when it’s been spewing all week, but won’t fare so well when the conditions only allow for white out park laps. The versatile nature of the Paradise means you can go sniffing out pow stashes in the morning, and cruise over to the park to booter shoot when it gets tracked out.

The camrock profile offers a stable and responsive feel with the benefit of floaty and playful rockered tips. When you’re up on your edges you engage the sidecut by compressing the midbody camber, powering up the whole edge through the arc of the turn for some hefty bite. The early rise tips smooth out turn initiation and loosen up landings, giving you a bit of extra leeway across all snow conditions. Aggression through the body of the board, forgiveness in the nose and tail, it’s a win-win situation.

Mid flexing and lightweight, you’ll find yourself just as at home slapping metal in the park as you will buttering and carving down groomers. The single radius sidecut gives super smooth carves and consistent bite. Durability comes in the form of tough biax fibreglass with plant based eco resin, beefy ABS sidewalls and full FSC Certified dual wood core.

“The addition of carbon Kevlar struts, sitting either side of each pack of inserts out towards the contact points increase power and precision without increasing torsional rigidity”

Not content to rest on the success of previous seasons, CAPiTA has upgraded the Paradise for 2021. The addition of Carbon Kevlar Struts, sitting either side of each pack of inserts out towards the contact points increase power and precision without increasing torsional rigidity. The base has also been revamped to SUPERDRIVE FX, to offer a durable and fast ride with the benefit of a clearer finish.

Paradise can be whatever you want it to be, this is the promised land, just please don’t start singing that shit Coldplay song. If you’re looking for something that’ll be more suited for deeper powder days and aggressive riding, check out CAPiTA The Equalizer, but for a playful daily driver the Paradise will be positively heavenly.

Tester Verdict 2020/21

Joy Dutch – Wordsmith, Whitelines

I was pleasantly surprised with the CAPiTA Paradise, for a board that looks like it was shat out by My Little Pony it was actually a real firecracker. Across the board it ticked all my boxes- playful and soft, versatile across a multitude of terrain and most importantly- dynamic.

Often, I find that a lot of softer flexing women’s boards are just a bit meh, they’re all well and good when you’re playing around with flatland but when you want to push it they just don’t perform. This wasn’t the case with the Paradise, it gave just as much welly hooning down piste as it did dipping off for some pockets of powder and boosting sidehits.

It did feel a bit twitchy when I was going full gas and it’s not as fast as some other boards in its category, but every all-mountain board will get beaten out by something more specific at some point. Bottom line- would I get one? Yes, I would and I’d rock that bubblegum vomit base like nobodies business.
