Burton meets local Innsbruck talent

Burton's Neighborhood Project shows the rest of the world what Innsbruck’s got to offer

Park, powder and street, the holy trinity of snowboarding, is what Burton’s gone for with their Neighborhood project. This, ladies and gents, is a legit series of video edits giving the rest of the world a glimpse of what the mountains of Tyrol hold captured within the tiny valley of Inn. Despite the mouth-watering schnitzel and cheap beer (well, cheap for us who live on the other side of the English Channel) Innsbruck is a mecca for snowboarders. Stomp it, slash it, send it, spin it – Whether it is park, powder or street, these local rippers do it with impeccable style and confidence. We still do wonder though, why hasn’t anyone taken this talented bunch of snowboarders out to play together before? Well, better late than never.

Inspired by having their European headquarters located in the heart of the Alps, Innsbruck, Burton has put together some serious riding with their Neighborhood clips, focusing on local Innsbruck talent riding local spots. It might be in the water, or simply the fresh air, but this crew of shredders are ripping. Hard. The three clips include everyone from youngsters to old schoolers – Max Zebe, the goldilocks who took snowboarding by storm with his carefree style, Sani Alibabic, the old school don participating in a handful of legendary Pirate Movie Production films, Henrik Meyn, the freshly groomed young gun, and of course, members of Innsbruck finest, the Sane! crew. Benno Bauer, Marvin Salmina and Julia Baumgartner are representing Sane! with some steezy rail riding and powerful powder turns.

Burton might have a reputation of being a bit of a crowd pleaser, as in making sure their brand keeps most of the people out there happy. We’re not saying it’s a bad thing, but we are pleased that they’ve broadened their horizons and done something you wouldn’t put a classic Burton label on. The Neighborhood concept is rad, and we’re stoked that Burton has taken on a project like this. All three clips make us want to grab the next flight to Innsbruck, strap into our bindings (or step on if you prefer going full on Burton mode) and sliiiiiiide. This Burton x Innsbruck mashup is an absolute steeze fest!

Riders: Alex Beer, Benno Bauer, Henrik Meyn, Jonas Spieker, Julia Baumgartner, Marvin Salmina, Max Zebe, Sani Alibabic and Tobias Margreiter
