Who Is The Burton Malavita For?

You don’t have to be a dedicated park rat to rock a pair of Malavitas, but some of the features will appeal more to those who ride with more of a freestyle flair.

Baseplate

Long days in the park locking in a shot or trick can be gruelling in more than one way, so why make things any harder for yourself? The Malavita’s feature an EVA foam canted footbed with cushioning gel in the heel, to allow your feet to sit in at a more natural angle to reduce fatigue and take some of the slap out of big landings.

Available in both Re:Flex and EST, the Malavita’s baseplate is a Glass/Nylon composite that allows for consistent board feel, but allows for some playful flex laterally.

“As you’d expect from the binder of choice for the majority of the Burton men’s team the Malavita’s have all the mod cons”

Straps and Highbacks

Forward lean is as contentious as any subject in snowboarding, but with the Malavita’s easy adjustment highback, you can get the best of both worlds. If you’re pumping it on groomers looking for some extra edge control then dial ‘em right up, for loosey goosey jibbing sessions ease it up for some extra play.

The minimalist asym straps are super malleable to wrap round your boot securely, but also have an extra trick up their sleeve for varied conditions- flip the straps round for increased movement and play or keep them as normal for some more support.

As you’d expect from the binder of choice for the majority of the Burton men’s team the Malavita’s have all the mod cons- reinforced heel hammock for extra grip, double take ratchets with Insta-Click engagement and Burton’s top of the range Supergrip Capstrap 2.0.

“Not just a freestyle binding, the Malavita’s are high-performance across the whole mountain”

Roundup

Yeah, they’re a little more expensive than something like the Mission, but the difference in performance is palpable. Not just a freestyle binding, the Malavita’s are high-performance across the whole mountain.
