UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Burton Ion here
Burton’s premium snowboard boot just got… premium-er. While you can still pick up the speed-lace version of the Burton Ion, this new incarnation is the only boot in the B’s men’s line to feature a double Boa Focus closure system.
“When you’re parting with this much cash you’re entitled to expect the best. Fortunately the Burton Ion Boa delivers”
Burton are no stranger to Boa, of course; they’ve been using the system with their own patented New England Rope laces for years. Boa Focus, however, is newer to the table, and is designed to offer an even quicker, more convenient system as well as improved fit around the ankle.
A pimped-out lace system does not a snowboard boot make, however, and when you’re parting with this much cash you’re entitled to expect the best. Fortunately the Burton Ion Boa delivers; it’s got more top-shelf tech than you’ll find pretty much anywhere else.
The AutoCANT footbed delivers unparalleled boardfeel and comfort, whilst the ReBounce cushioning gives you an additional layer of protection from impacts and chatter. Cold feet are banished with a layer of reflective foil that keeps the heat locked in when needed, but the liner ensures that sweat is immediately drawn away from the skin to ensure a fresher feel for longer.
The durable and comfortable Life Liner will keep your feet happy all winter long, and the stiff tongue provides excellent response when you’re charging. If your budget will stretch this far, then the Burton Ion Boa is a worthy investment – fans of aggressive riding and effective support control couldn’t ask for more.
