As the name suggests, the Flight Attendant is at its best when it’s airborne. With it’s poppy directional camber profile and dynamic internal layup catching air isn’t just on the menu, it’s the full platter.

Who Is The Burton Flight Attendant For?

It’s built for aggressive riders who’re looking for something to charge on, whatever the conditions, in any and all terrain. The Flight Attendant is pretty stiff and powerful so less experienced riders or those who want to jib around might want to look elsewhere.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

With its elongated rockered up front, setback stance and tapered outline the Flight Attendant is primed for sniffing out powder stashes and keeping your nose up and out when you hit the payload. You can centre your stance in the middle of the sidecut if you want a bit more variety and balance when riding groomers but realistically, you’ll pack a bigger punch when you’re riding directionally.

A big pocket of rocker in the nose gets you the easy-going surf in the powder, but a dominant camber sits towards the rear, driving power and precision through your back leg, which is further bolstered by the stiffer tail for slashing and holding through the whole arc of your turn.

Construction and Materials

Although it shares a lot of similarities with the Skeleton Key, unlike the Skeleton Key, the Flight Attendant is stiffened up with carbon stringers running from nose to tail. These boost the longitudinal flex for really dynamic snap through the board and work with the triax fibreglass weave for a powerful and responsive ride whilst still allowing for some torsional manoeuvrability.

We’ve mentioned a lot about the Flight Attendant’s penchant for altitude, and internally it makes use of Burton’s Squeezebox profiling, Pro-Tip and Super Fly II core to ensure you can drive power to where you need it for maximum pop and a balanced feel once you leave the ground.

Roundup

So, while the Flight Attendant is most certainly capable of ripping through the park, or throwing down some backcountry freestyle, it’s no buttery jib board, this is for experienced riders who want to tackle bigger terrain and boost off anything and everything. A full camber might give you a smidgen more dynamic pop, but the Flight Attendant’s Dynamic Camber sacrifices a tiny portion of this for increased versatility across different terrain and snow conditions. Point it, send it.
