Burton European Open 2012 Slopestyle Finals – Alek Oestreng and Jamie Anderson win!

Alek Oestreng getting seeeeriously high. Lad!

So the Burton European Open Slopestyle has wrapped up for the year, and if you missed out on the Red Bull TV live stream, here’s what happened. In the men’s Peetu Piiroinen found himself in the unfamiliar (though I’m sure not entirely unpleasant) position of standing on the third tier of the podium. He was beaten by fellow Finn Roope Tonteri (who’d actually pipped him to the post last year) and Norway’s Alek Oestreng, who threw down a frankly insane run, that included a ma-hooosive 1260.

Kjersti Buaas was so stylish she knocked the earth off its axis. Shame she fell shortly afterwards...

The women’s winner was less of a surprise – Jamie Anderson (possibly the steeziest lady ever to step on a slopestyle course) chalked up yet another win, while second went to Enni Rukajarvi, last year’s TTR World Tour Champion. Third place though was a little more interesting, going to Isabel Derungs, a Swiss miss who’s somehow flown below our radar until now, despite having one of the beastliest backside rodeos in snowboarding. Check out the pics from our man on the ground below, and tune in to the live cast tomorrow to watch all the action form the halfpipe finals.
