Today, rumours of their next breakthrough in binding technology for the 21/22 season have surfaced for the first time.

An evolution of the hugely popular Step On system, the Strap On bridges the gap between traditional and quick entry bindings.

No strangers to experimental design, Burton know first-hand just how tricky it can be to penetrate new sectors of the market. When the Hard On system flopped after its unexpected early release in 2017, Burton had to pull out deflated but went back to the drawing board more determined than ever. Once Lead Engineer Lou B. Wanger spotted a gap in the market, he and his team started playing around with the concept of a hybrid binding and began fleshing it out.

“People love the idea of Step On,” Lou told us. “But there was a gaping hole for those who wanted the best of both worlds, too many people have been shafted by a binding that doesn’t quite fit their remit”
