A natural companion to the jacket of the same name, the Burton [ak] Swash 2L snowboard pants boast a functional fit that prioritises movement and performance above all else. As luck would have it, they look pretty tidy as well.
The Burton [ak] Swash 2L snowboard pants have a simple shell structure, without any built-in insulation. Not that that’s a problem – legs don’t tend to get as cold as torsos – but if you run a little on the cool side, just chuck on a pair of thermals underneath and you’re all set.
“you’re about as likely to get wet in these as a Jacob’s cracker in the Sahara desert”
As for that shell, it’s made of two-layer Gore-Tex which is still the industry standard for high-end waterproofing and breathability. It also has fully taped seams, so you’re about as likely to get wet in these as a Jacob’s cracker in the Sahara desert.
An elastic pull at the bottom of each pant leg allows you to prevent damage to the cuffs while walking, and the venting system is pretty clever too. Unlike most pants that have individual zips on the inside of each leg, the brilliantly-named ‘Test-I-Cool’ vent goes right across the crotch from one knee to the other. When you think about where you actually sweat the most during a day’s riding, that makes a lot of sense.
