We’ve known for a while that Maximise, Quebec’s freestyle training factory, has a setup capable of bringing on young talent quicker than even the most sadistic Russian gymnastics coach. Just look at pre-pubescent prodigy Eli Bouchard, who learned double backflips there before his ninth birthday.
It’s never a bad thing to be reminded of it, though – and when you throw in some Billy Morgan and Aimee Fuller stuntage at the same time, it’s well worth a watch. The two Brits take advantage of the lightning-fast laps on what coach Jack Shackleton calls “the never-ending slopestyle course”.
We don’t want to get all Four Yorkshiremen, but in our day all we had were felt covered wooden ramps dragged out onto Dendix bristles. And we were glad of it.
