Though Father’s Day is celebrated on different dates depending on the country you live in, for most it’s the third Sunday of June where the dads get the fist bumps and an extra hour of lazing in bed. Maybe even with breakfast, if they’re lucky. And this year that’s June 17.
With more and more snowboarders each year becoming paid up members of the Rad Dad gang we thought we’d offer you some ideas of snowboard-related gear you could bestow on the father of you/your child as a reminder that, while it might appear that you never listen to them, they have a special place in your heart nonetheless. And what says this better than rampant consumerism? Nothing! That’s what!
Bataleon Magic Carpet Snowboard
If the family are feeling particularly deep of pocket this Father’s Day, then why not reward the old man with a brand new snowboard? This time of year there will certainly be some bargains to be had as stores look to clear out that last bit of remaining stock before the new swag hits, so you’ll no doubt be able to pick one up at a tasty price.
If the dad in question bleats on about how hard he used to send it in the park, but these days seems to have mostly retired from leaving the ground, get him a tasty powder shape and tell him all the cool kids ride park on them anyway.
A slightly looser, mellower-flexing board would work well for his withering muscles and for riding slowly while helping the nippers learn the ropes – this hack has been having great success introducing his heir to snowboarding on a Bataleon Magic Carpet which ticks a lot of boxes: forgiving at low speeds forwards and switch while still fun blasting hardpack, great for powder, and the twin shape allows the old git to deceive himself into thinking he could pull stunts beyond a Method if he really wanted to.
