A long-time member of the Mervin Mfg family, Bent Metal were the binders affixed to a multitude of Lib Tech and Gnu snowboards back in the day and marketed in the classic irreverent Mervin style – they’re (now mostly) metal bindings and they’re called Bent Metal. Despite their self-mockery, the bindings were great, and the unique forward lean ‘Cube’ adjustment was beautiful in its simplicity. But then they stopped making them.
However, in 2016 Bent Metal awoke from its slumber and Mervin are once again pushing these bindings out there. In the brand’s downtime, the product engineers clearly weren’t resting on their laurels as they re-launched with a host of cutting-edge new tech, including the Flex Control Drive plates. The new collection has a range of models catering for all budgets and riding preferences. And, yes, the Cube is still there.
As no surprise, with a no-nonsense squad of snowboarding powerhouses, the Bent Metal team is as impressive as their bindings. Anchored by the godfather of power freestyle, Jamie Lynn, the BMBW team is stacked with epic talent such as Eric Jackson, Forest Bailey, Blake Paul, Austen Sweetin, Barrett Christy, and many more.
