Here’s some more behind the scenes footage from the filming of Pirate Movie Production’s new one Unique 8. Last time we were treated to a behind the spot wepisode with Gigi Rüf at the famous beaver dam jump and this time we get a look at what goes into stomping a backcountry banger with Chris Sörman. Chris has the booter all to himself and sends it three times before riding away from a lofty frontside 1080. It wasn’t the cleanest of ride-outs but maybe he stomped it even cleaner on his final attempt. Guess we’ll have to wait until we see the full movie to find out eh?
We always find it interesting how much a kicker varies in appearance from different perspectives. When shot from below this one looks like a pretty sizeable booter that might kick you up into the air considerably, but when you’re actually up by the jump, the take off is a lot flatter than you might first think. Anyone else had much experience building kickers in the backcountry? From our (rather limited) kicker building experiences it’s always worth making sure you make the take off wide enough and long enough so that you don’t end up with a really whippy, harsh transition. Unless, of course, your intending to go upside down…
