Sneaking under our radar, we found this gem from Japanese riders Akifumi Hiraoka, Yu Sasaki, Yuta Watanabe on an epic pristine powder day at Whistler. The blue skies are a give away that the entourage are in British Colombia as, more often than not, it buckets down with snow in Japan. Riding for Heart Films, founded by Japanese legendary rider Tadashi Fuse who rode for Burton and now Yes Snowboards, the trio hit some seriously deep powder. With a peaceful soundtrack, this subtle slow-motion edit celebrates a near spiritual-harmony between nature and the beauty of snowsport -yes there is some skiing featured; do look out for the skier who loses a ski! Highlights include wides of lion-hearted drops and lines twinned with tranquil point-of-views shots.
If there ever was a film that made you appreciate the awe of freeriding powder, then this would be it.
