Audi Nines Mixtape Vol.2

Audi Nines drop their latest white hot Mixtape

More eagerly anticipated than the clock hitting 5pm on a Friday, more exciting than Christmas, more cinematic than Cannes Film Festival, more majestic than the Catalina Wine Mixer- it’s the Audi Nines Mixtape Volume 2. The last time we were this stoked for a mixtape was when Lil’ Wayne dropped ‘Da Drought 3’ in ’07 (Don’t judge us it was a different time).

You’re gonna wanna grab a snack, empty your bladder, and put up the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign, because you’re gonna wanna watch this spicy little edit over and over. We had to physically restrain our intern after he started trying to make out with his laptop screen after watching Sebbe boost his mammoth double off the launch pad. This thing should come with a parental guidance warning…

“Put up the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign, because you’re gonna wanna watch this spicy little edit over and over”

We’ve been frothing over this since we got the course concept visuals, and the event itself definitely did not disappoint. The riders were going hell for leather the whole week over their 2 specially designed courses, jumping, slashing, spinning, sliding and grabbing their way around some of the most insane and creative park features we’ve ever clapped our little eyes on.

The women’s course saw up and comers like Annika Morgan, who won the Wildcard Competition, getting sendy alongside legends in the game Anna Gasser and Yuka Fujimori. The women’s course in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl was shaped by the Diamond Girls Crew, who win points for being both the raddest and most stylish shapers in the Tyrol.

The jib section at the bottom of the men’s course made for some wall ride insanity and a notably physics-defying manoeuvre from Finnish punk rock heartthrob Rene Rinnekangas. The quarter pipe to banked landing saw riders shooting for the moon with tweaked methods, but none so stylish as President of the ‘Fuck FIS Fanclub’ Terje Haakonsen.

The riders were psyching themselves up to hit the big daddy, the plat du jour, the stainer of underwear- The Launch Pad. The pinnacle in the crown of the course, the pad was a sight to behold. Designed to send whichever rider had the minerals to hit it soaring over the 32m platform, it was more intimidating than an angry french lady in a lift queue.

Featuring: Yuka Fujimori, Ståle Sandbech, Mons Røisland, Sven Thorgren, Rene Rinnekangas, Reira Iwabuchi, Miyabi Onitsuka, Laurie Blouin, Anna Gasser, Sebbe De Buck, Sina Candrian, Clemens Millauer, Šárka Panchochocá, Niek van Der Velden, Yuri Okubo , Lia Mara Bösch, Raibu Katayama, Terje Haakonson, Jan Scherrer, and Annika Morgan.

Keep your eyes peeled for more edits from Audi Nines being released over the next couple of weeks, it’s a tried and true way to keep your stoke levels up over the summer.
