It’s been more than a month since the Audi Nines 2019 was wrapped up and yet, we keep on receiving all these sick edits from the mist of this madness. The event itself was epic, not to mention having the sickest set up the Whitelines team has ever laid eyes on, so we’re stoked that the guys over at Audi Nines are still dropping edits left, right and centre.
“It wasn’t exactly Pearl Harbor but Holy mother of God, competition day had Japanese invasion written all over it”
This one is for the ladies – who were absolutely killing it out there! For the first time in the history of the Audi Nines, the ladies got their own course set up out in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Big up for the shapers, the amount of sleepless nights and energy drinks that must have gone into shaping that monstrous masterpiece…
Safe to say, each and every one of the girls who were mental enough to hit that course is an effin’ madman – We wouldn’t go near any of those jumps even if they paid us (not sure if that says more about us or the course though…). As competition day got closer, the weather decided to get worse and sadly, the ladies course had to be shut down. However, the Men’s set up in Solden was still very much up and running and as competition day was upon us, the ladies were stomping that one – no dramas.
It wasn’t exactly Pearl Harbor but Holy mother of God, competition day had Japanese invasion written all over it. All three of the Japanese ladies were absolutely killing it! Yuka Fujimori kept on getting the crowd pumped with her double 900 and backside 900 Indy, which earned her first place in the comp. Followed by the other two Japanese rippers, Miyabi Onitsuka and Reira Iwabuchi, the podium turned into Tokyo Drift.
We also had the pleasure of witnessing Anna Gasser doing what she does best – defying gravity. More than a handful of rad ladies were stomping the set ups, yet again raising the bar for female snowboarding. We can’t wait to see what will go down at next year’s Audi Nines.
