The Clone is a bit of an amalgamation snowboard, it blends old school ideals like full camber and aggressive flex, with new tech and modern twists to create a freestyle oriented ripper that isn’t confined to the park.

Who Is The Vimana Clone For?

Aggressive riders who put a freestyle twist on everything, whether its blasting over rollers, sending it through the kicker line or throwing down on natural features in the backcountry. The stiff flex and aggressive profile mark this out as a board for experienced riders who’ll be able to make the most of its hard-hitting features.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Okay, so many freestyle boards run with a twin outline but with only a slight taper and minimal setback the Clone can still ride and land switch quite easily. You also have the option to centre your stance on the sidecut for a more balanced feel when you’re ripping park, but the slight directional feel will pay dividends when you’re taking those tricks into the backcountry.

There’s no school like the old school and true camber is still king when it comes to dynamic pop and powerful riding. Always pre-loaded with tension, the Clone will spring into action when you’re hopping onto features or boosting off the lip of a jump.

A deep sidecut gives the Clone an aggressive edge when you’re charging on firmer snow, allowing you to really dig into your carves and hold through the whole arc of your turn.

Construction and Materials

A lightweight Poplar core provides consistent flex for a predictable ride and is sandwiched with carbon and Kevlar inlays to dampen vibrations and increase response whilst avoiding weight penalties. A solid 8/10 flex means it’s a pretty aggressive beast, better suited to riders who charge hard and fast, needing that extra response from the board.

Finished off with Vimana’s über-rapid Sintered 7200 base, you’ll be at the front of the pack all season long. Seriously, this thing has one speed and one speed only: top.

Roundup

Three is a magic number, and the Clone is pro model to not one, not two, but three riders. With signature lengths by Werni Stock, Fredrik Austbo and Michi Albin that’s a helluva lotta testing hours for the Clone. Artwork, as always, by Vimana’s favourite Shallowtree, who brings his signature style to the Scandi brand.
