If someone told you they were gonna bomb it down a 26km alpine road, complete with: 1) sheer drops (to certain death) to avoid 2) 1500m of total vertical and 3) 29 hairpins that are tighter than Katie Price’s jeggings – all on custom built drift trikes, you’d probably think they were crazy.
Well, turns out that triple-corking British Olympic hopeful Billy Morgan and Hemel park shaper and brains behind JR Drift Trikes Joe Rackley are exactly that.
This epic two-man decent went down at this year’s UK Snowboard Test (Spring Break) out in Kaunertal, Austria back in May and we were lucky enough to witness the action first hand:
Suffice it to say that the trikes, which were designed and manufactured by Joe himself, look a whole bunch of fun to ride – although we’d definitely wanna try them on a slightly mellower road before stepping up to this particular windy-ass beast. Bladdy nutters the pair of ’em!
The edit, cut together by talented lenscrafter and snowboarder Rowan Biddescombe of SHADEMedia is rad’n’all but we can’t help but wish he’d spliced this little 1960s gem in there somewhere…
Our Art Director Tim apparently had one of these as a kid – has to say something about his age dunnit? “8, 9, 10 years old – old enough for GREEN MACHINE”… ;)
