Learning where to put your weight when exiting a turn is all well and good, but even before you set foot on the hill it’s important to get your layering right. What you wear will vary drastically depending on the conditions (see our comprehensive guide on How To Layer For Snowboarding), but here’s something that’s worth chucking on whatever the weather.
“Airblaster’s own ‘Woolverino’ blend is not only tougher than the Merino alone, it’s also even quicker-drying”
The Airblaster Ninja Suit is the last word in base layers, and if staying comfortable on the hill is a top priority then it’s worth every penny. Its one-piece construction is cosier than having separate uppers and lower thermals, and will lock you up against any rogue snow that gets through your jacket and pants.
Merino wool is famously ideal for use in thermals, thanks to its warmth and moisture wicking properties, but that’s not all that’s going on here. Airblaster’s own ‘Woolverino’ blend is roughly two parts Merino to one part ‘Tencel’. This combination of miracle Kiwi wool and wood-based cellulose fibres is not only tougher than the Merino alone, it’s also even quicker-drying. When you’re sweating up a storm on a long backcountry hike, or on a warm spring day, you’ll be loving that.
