Why we chose the Airblaster Erik Leon C.O.R.E Snowboard Pants: Made with recycled plastic and pushing for a more accessible snowboard scene without compromising on the looks.
Together with Erik Leon, Airblaster’s taking a step towards a brighter future by introducing their C.O.R.E collection that includes the Erik Leon C.O.R.E snowboard pants and the Erik Leon C.O.R.E snowboard jacket. By offering affordable products in an industry that, let’s face it, isn’t exactly the cheapest, Airblaster and Erik Leon are working to make snowboarding more accessible.
Strapped to a board since he was a kid, part of the Airblaster snowboard team since he was 14 years old, Erik Leon thought it was time to give back to a community that has helped him reach the point he is at now. C.O.R.E is Erik’s way to reinvest in the snowboard community and provide products produced with sustainability in mind, and which won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
“C.O.R.E is Erik’s way to reinvest in the snowboard community and provide products produced with sustainability in mind whilst not costing you an arm and a leg”
The Erik Leon C.O.R.E pants come in a waterproof rating of 10K, meaning they’ll do a good job at keeping you dry as long as you don’t go venturing out in knee-deep snow for hours on end (they’re not made for that).
When lapping the park or cruising the resort, things can sometimes get a bit warm and you might start to feel toasty on the inside. This is why you ought to make sure your snowboard pants have a high enough breathability rating to keep you cool. Ranking at a 10K breathability mark, the Erik Leon pants will do a great job at keeping things nice and dry on the inside. No, you won’t have to worry about soaking in your own bodily fluids here (they’re good, but they’re not that good).
Brands are constantly upping their game when it comes to taking on more environmental responsibility, a path Airblaster has chosen to embark upon too. In the production of the Erik Leon pants, 50% recycled content has been used – meaning Airblaster is essentially trying to dress you in second-hand plastic bottles. It may sound trashy but, trust us, Mother Nature will find you attractive AF.
