Why we chose the Airblaster Erik Leon C.O.R.E Snowboard Jacket: It reflects Erik Leon’s personal take on how to give back to snowboarding as a community. Also, it looks sick.
Snowboarding is expensive. That’s a fact. Whether you were buying a new board or a new piece of outerwear, it’s an investment only a few can afford to make on the regular. In order to try and make snowboarding more inclusive, together with Erik Leon Airblaster is introducing a new line named C.O.R.E for 20/21, which includes the Erik Leon C.O.R.E jacket and Erik Leon C.O.R.E pants.
Known for his versatility and style, Erik Leon’s personal approach to snowboarding is a sight for sore eyes. With plenty of heavy-hitting video parts up his sleeve and a no-nonsense kind of attitude to boot, a push towards a more inclusive snowboard industry feels only right coming from him.
“The Airblaster C.O.R.E products are offered at an accessible price point to make them more accessible to a wider audience”
What does C.O.R.E stand for? The Airblaster C.O.R.E products are offered at an accessible price point, to make them more a realistic expenditure for the majority. They’re also produced using a 50% recycled outer shell, reducing the products environmental impact as a result. Finally, the products also support C.O.R.E events, which aim to inspire participation and build a positive community. This is their way of giving back to a sport that has given them so much throughout the years.
The Erik Leon jacket is part of Airblaster’s Freedom series. It’s got a 10K waterproof and a 10K breathability rating to keep you dry. In technical terms, the 10K waterproofing is fine when you’re staying within the limits of the resort. Whether you’re hitting any odd side hit you come across, cruising down the piste, or lapping the park you’ll be well catered for here.
