Last night saw the Air & Style big air extravaganza descend on Beijing for their sole event of the 2013-14 winter season.

Taking over the famous Bird’s Nest stadium again for the evening, the event attracted a star-studded field of riders, including the likes of Halldor Helgason, Ulrik Badertscher, Peetu Piiroinen and last year’s Air & Style Innsbruck champion, Eric Willet.

After some hard-fought head to head battles, it was young Swede Sven Thorgren who took the win, defeating Sage Kotsenberg, Kim Rune Hansen and Torgier Bergrem in the super-final with a perfect backside 1440 mute.

There were apparently triple attempts (although no-one stuck one) but for us the coolest trick on that highlight reel has to be age Kotsenberg’s backside double cork 1080 with a Japan and a tail-grab. A crazy-looking trick made crazier by his long-hair.
