Why we chose the Adidas Tactical Lexicon ADV Snowboard Boots: We’d always recommend substance over style, but with the Adidas Tactical Lexicon, you don’t have to pick between the two.

Over the years Adidas have created a boot line that encompasses the whole spectrum of snowboarding, from the uber-playful skate inspired Samba, up to the top-of-the-line power and precision of the Acerra 3ST ADV. The Tactical Lexicon ADV sits in the middle, a daily driver for those ripping the whole resort.

A nice middle of the road flex flings the doors wide open for all-mountain exploration, bringing the Goldilocks-esque versatility to the forefront.

“The nice thing about the Tactical Lexicon ADV’s is that they don’t pigeon-hole your riding at all- they’re the ATV of the Adidas line”

Who Is The Adidas Tactical Lexicon ADV For?

The nice thing about the Tactical Lexicon ADV’s is that they don’t pigeon-hole your riding at all- they’re the ATV of the Adidas line. The price and semi-stiff flex may put newer riders off, but for those looking for something as responsive as it is resplendent these are hard to beat.

Shell & Outsole

Drawing inspiration from the ground-breaking mid-90’s Lexicon running shoe, the Adidas Tactical Lexicon ADV uses a reactive thermoplastic polyurethane Boost Midsole, this absorbs shock for heavy landings, dampens vibrations and provides insulation underfoot. It’s beefed up by a cross braced Torsion System, bridging the gap between heel and forefoot, allowing them to move independently whilst still supporting the arch.

Micro-grooved, multi-directional tread is the last line of defence in the sole, increasing traction across a range of surfaces from topsheets to icy parking lots. Through the rear shaft you get a rubber backstay to alleviate slippage between boot and highback, once again making sure there’s no response lost when you’re pushing it edge to edge.

Traditional laces will always have their sceptics, but Adidas have a little something extra up their sleeve with their Instep Power Lacing System, offering targeted support and increased lock over the heel. OG laces will always be a winner in our book, sure they may take a few extra seconds, but you get unrivalled fit, reliability and customisation.

Liner

The old school aesthetic may catch your eye initially, but comfort is the real winner here. With Adidas’ Gold Level Ultralon liner, multi-density foam and fully independent liner lacing you can map every curve and contour of your feet for the ultimate fit. The 3D moulded tongue enhances support and reduced rub down the shin, whilst the articulated cuff allows for a consistent flex to mitigate pinch points.

Anatomically designed padding cradles the Achilles Tendon, creating an almost perfect heel lock for most people, without putting undue pressure over the top of the foot. Slippage in the heel is minimised for the ultimate in responsiveness and powerful edge to edge transitions.

Roundup

With the mid-90’s nostalgic look and OG laces, the Tactical Lexicon’s are a certified throwback on the surface, but there is nothing old school about the performance. Sure, they’re not the cheapest boots on the market, but they’re worth every penny.
