What would your first experiences of Alaska be if you had the chance to go and do your best Travis Rice impression out there? Pat Burgener and Mat Schaer were taken there for the first time by Absinthe’s David Vladyka to log some shots for their parts in Absinthe’s latest cinematic offering Resonance. Here’s an exclusive look at what they got up to on the trip, complete with the bangers they stomped along the way.
As you’d expect, it was a pretty eye-opening experience for the pair – jumping in helis for the first time, getting in the odd hairy situation, living the simple life in a campervan and sending it on faces that you and I would be content on merely descending in one piece. By the looks of things they got their fair share of bangers on film as well – that huge cornice session from 2:45 onwards looked particularly fruitful, as was the session on the natural quarterpipe – Pat Burgener’s backside rodeo at 5:50 is something to behold isn’t it?
If you haven’t seen them yet, Absinthe have a whole web series called Flipside – a behind the scenes look at the filming of Resonance. This Websinthe episode has come direct to us from the Absinthe cutting room floor – look out for a further two dropping exclusively on Whitelines over the next couple of weeks. And don’t forget that you can have a play with some of this footage yourself in this year’s Can You Cut It? editing competition – there’s stil plenty of time to enter!
