Snowboarding is developing all the time. At the beginning of the new season with that small relatively unknown comp coming up in Sochi, triple corks are now pretty much the standard. These days it’s tricky to imagine anyone standing on the top rung of a major contest podium without at least one triple in his final run.

Of course we’d never want to stand in the way of progress because (as our columnist Joe Cavanagh put it so eloquently recently) without it we’d still be doing sketchy, arm-waving 360s (and you’d be reading a magazine called “Absolutely Radical!”) But we can definitely understand how the whole corkscrew hype can get on people’s nerves.

Which is why we’ve put together this list of sublime tricks that we just like more than triples. If you can’t stand the sight of McMorris et al and what the style of snowboarding they represent (or if you just want a break without having to shell out the price of Kit Kat) then this is for you.
