You know snowboarding’s a young man’s game when you see Patrick Bergener land the first switch backside triple cork at a mere 16 years of age. However, there’s prodigal youth talent, and then there’s this. This video features a three-year-old kid as he attempts to grasp the basics. Three?! Of course, it’s from Russia, the country that considers its 7-year-old gymnasts to be “over the hill”:

Granted, he’s showing a bit of balance, and seems to be enjoying himself, but surely this is more likely to end in disaster than create the next Shaun White? Or, even worse, maybe he’ll start a fierce rivalry with this American tot – snowboard Cold War!
