Last weekend’s Dew Tour made for some interesting watching. Being the first major US event of an Olympic season would have made it interesting enough, but some extra spice was added to the mix by the fact that the US snowboarding authorities had made it an official Olympic team qualifying event.
This meant the American riders would be vying not only for a share of the prize purse, but also for one of the four spots available on the US Olympic team. Of course this isn’t going to be the only qualifying event for the yanks, but this promises to be a hard-fought selection battle. And as one British supermarket is fond of reminding us, is such circumstances every little helps.
So how did they all do? Or rather, how did they all Dew? (We’ll expect our cheques from the sponsors in the post for that one!) Well, the results threw up more than a few surprises. Here are 10 things we learned about what’s shaping up to be an interesting season…
